10/1/18 is World Day of Bullying Prevention

10/1/18 is World Day of Bullying Prevention.  We are asking everyone to wear blue to stake a stand against bullying on that day.  We are also hosting a district-wide event to recognize this day.  All activities on Monday,10/1/18, will be briefly interrupted at 10:01 am with the following announcement/activity:

  1. At 10:01 a.m., buildings will make the following announcement:    “It is 10:01 am, and we are asking you to stand up.  Please do it now.  Stand up and stand with me for one minute.  Take a stand and listen for a moment.  October 1 is World Day of Bullying Prevention, so we are taking a stand against bullying.  Take a stand to support others who have been hurt or harmed.  Take a stand to treat others with kindness.  Take a stand to be more accepting of people’s differences.  Take a stand to include those who are left out.  We now have a gift for each of you to serve as a reminder that you took a stand with us and can take a stand every day to make our school a better place.”

  1. Immediately following the announcement, teachers hand out silicone bracelets to all students and staff while playing the song in this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AV2bSNakIffEE7khwhZEPc2Yc85CGRql/view?usp=sharing
  2. When the music stops, the announcements will be over.

**Please note that if a student chooses not to stand, he/she should still be given a bracelet.
